While I personally never HAD credit problems, I was the victim of a credit error that caused me HUGE grief while trying to buy a new home.  It was so frustrating trying to get the credit bureaus to listen.  Further I needed to get it fixed QUICK. 

The credit bureau claimed I had an unpaid medical expense from a medical center that had since gone out of business.  They claimed they had turned it over to a collection agency.  Since I had lived at the same house for 18 years, with the same phone number and had the same job I must have been VERY difficult to track down.  Ironically enough, the collection agency had gone out of business also.  How CONVENIENT!

Not knowing how to go about getting this removed I paid the debt AGAIN rather than fight it.  I will never forget the feeling of knowing that I had paid that bill at the time of service but the records were nowhere to be found after all those years.

If I had known about Lexington Law back then I could have saved that money for closing costs.  Live and learn!

I am also a landlord.  I do credit checks on EVERY potential renter before I accept them as a renter.  I don't like being burned.  People think they are fine but when I run the report they are shocked as to the errors on their report.  I see it all the time.
